Learning is a Family Affair: NCLR Resources

The National Center for Learning Resources offer free resources–English and Spanish–for parents. This is a great resource to offer at Open House, conferences or a literacy night.

NCFL’s mission is to address the nation’s literacy challenges by engaging all family members in learning, with a primary focus on parents and children living in poverty, according to their website. NCFL advances literacy and education by developing, implementing, and documenting innovative and promising two-generation practices, networks, and learning tools.

Here, I’m sharing a resource of resources: a handy listing from NCFL of multilingual free resources that she provides for her students and their families.

Molly Gus is a middle school English-Language Arts teacher at Scranton School, located near Tremont and Ohio City. She has taught in Cleveland for 19 years. Molly received her teaching degree from Cleveland State University with a focus on urban education. Her master’s degree is in the Art of Teaching from Marygrove College. Molly has a passion for teaching and a true love of learning. At Scranton, she is a resident educator mentor and serves as the No Place for Hate coordinator. In her spare time, Molly spends time skiing, swimming and traveling with her husband and two children.
