The State of Ohio’s Third Grade Reading Guarantee Overview provides information about this high-stakes test. At this link you’ll find highly-accessible resources including an overview of the Third Grade Reading Guarantee, the Reading Improvement and Monitoring Plan, and a list of exemptions to the Third Grade Reading Guarantee. There are also links to helpful websites and reading activity videos to support reading education. Two resources support this work: a user-friendly powerpoint presentation that I use in parent meetings and a worksheet to track Third Grade Guarantee data in my classroom.

3rd–5th Grade
Holly Morell is a third-grade teacher at Joseph M. Gallagher School. This is her 24th year teaching and her 19th year with the CMSD. She especially loves teaching English as a Second Language. Holly received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Sociology along with a master's degree in Early Childhood Education from Kent State University. She holds a TESOL endorsement from Cleveland State University and meets Ohio’ requirements to teach third grade reading. Holly also serves as a CMSD mentor for new teachers. Holly lives in North Royalton with her husband and three children, two of whom are in college studying education and nursing and one in high school.
